Whales battle back from a 5-0 first inning deficit and finally seal the deal in the bottom of the 9th with a sac fly. Whales 8 SKE 7. Arozorena leads the way with 4 of the Whales 16 hits. #2- No offense in Cold Harbor. Again, Killer Es storm out to a 5-0 lead in the second and this time the Whales couldn't rally back, managing only 2 hits. SKE 8 Whales 0. *Whales did turn a triple play as the one bright spot of the contest. #3 SKE jump out to a 2-0 lead in the first, but Whales blow back and regain the lead at 3-2. Both staffs keep the score at 3-2, until SKE ties it up in the 8th. Naylor gets a double to start the 9th, moved to 3rd on a ground out, then a wild pitch allows the winning run to scamper home. Whales 4 SKE 3. | 3 games

The Villagers are still looking at the pre-season prediction of the GM to be in the cellar (again) and using it to achieve wondrous things- G1,G2 and G4 were all tight 1-run affairs, while MYV romped in G3 with an 17-2 crushing of the Bears. G1 saw Ashcraft give up 2 solo shots and not much else, while an Adley Rutschman 2R HR following a Suwinski RBI triple concluded the 3r 6th; the "wonder twins" of Rogers and Rogers finished the game, Taylor with the hold, Tyler the save. G2 was similar, Luke Weaver sold his soul prior to the game to throw 6 1-hit innings, and the Villagers scraped across a single run via an Amed Rosario 2b in the 2nd. Rogers and Rogers finished the 1-0 victory. Game 3 was ugly, with a ridiculous 14-run 2nd inning (that may be a record for me). Josh Jung went 4-5 with 2 HR and 6 RBI to highlight the hitting. G4 was back to the nail-biters, the Bears took the lead in the top of the 6th with a 3-run inning, the Villagers tied it in the bottom of the inning. Yordan Alvarez hit a solo shot in the bottom of the 8th off Junis, and Rogers and Rogers attempted to finish up, but Adbert Alzolay came in for the final out. GGs, except #3! | 4 games

Gm1: 8-6 CHW: Busy first inning as Bichette leads off with a triple and scores for the Whales, while the Killers come back with a leadoff inside the park homer by Happ followed by 2 more runs to take a 3-1 lead, but leave the bases loaded. The Whales tied it with 2 in the 2nd on a 2-run homer by Rogers, then all quiet until the 7th when Cold Harbor scored 3 and the Killers 2, 6-5 Whales. Killers tied it with 2 out in the 9th when Arraez couldn't make the play on grounder, but the Whales got 2 in the 10th on an error by Acuna, and Sims shakily held on for the save and extra-inning win. Gm2: 3-0 SKE: Pablo Lopez struck out 15 over 7 shutout innings and Ronald Acuna went 4-5 as the Killers took game 2 of the series. Once again Southboro had many chances to blow the game open, stranding another 12 runners. Lopez allowed 5 hits in the first 3, but struck outall 9 batters recording outs. Gm3: 5-3 SKE: Ian Happ had 3 hits and Dominic Smith had 2 hits incuding a homer, 2 runs, and an RBI as the Killers took the win. Southboro went up 2-0 in the first on a 2-run homer by Smith. The score stayed that way until the 7th when Cold Harbor scored 3 thanks to shoddy infield defense by the Killers. Southboro came back with three of their own in the bottom of the 8th on 4 singles and 2 walks. An insurance run was thrown out at home to end the inning, but Chapman closed it out to preserve the win. Arraez had 3 hits for the Whales. Gm4: 7-3 SKE: The Killers wrapped out 18 hits to take the last game of the series easily in Slade Cecconi's last start of the season. Smith, Acuna, and Marsh each had 3 hits for Southboro and Cecconi pitched 5.1 shutout innings. Cecconi finished his 5 starts for the season with a 3-0 record and a 1.88 ERA. | 4 games

g1- Comet score early and often, 7 runs through 4 innings, cruise 9-3. g2- Kirby is perfect through 5.2, allowing just a single in the 6th. He goes 8 innings, allowing just the one baserunner. G1: Stripers beat the clasps off the Suspenders. 22 hits including 3 doubles by CJ Abrams, who scored 4 and drove in 3. Five Stripers had 3-hit games. OSS, 16-2. G2: The only close game in the series. Stripers were up 6-1 after 7. FYS scored 2 in B8 on an Alec Burleson HR. OSS scored a run in T9 on a Corey Seager error that proved fateful. B9 FYS scored 3 on Anthony Santander's 2nd HR of the game. Bednar came in and put 2 more runners on base with 1 out, but got the next 2 batters for his 9th save. OSS, 7-6. PS, Tatis stole home in the second inning. G3: Two 3-run HRs (Yandy Diaz and Corbin Carroll) are worth more than 2-run HRs (both by Seiya) and a solo shot (Goldy). But Stripers don't stop there, adding 4 more runs. Yandy had 6 RBIs. Bryan Baker (who?) struck out the only 3 batters he faced in B9. OSS, 10-5. | 3 games
